JHL's roots are in UNIX (1976). If we had to choose our operating system of choice, it would be obvious. That also includes the MAC OS. When Linux made its appearance in 1991, we knew technology had changed forever. Given our extensive experience with UNIX, Linux was a natural. We offered our first training class in 1993 long before the arrival of Red Hat and other companies who made the public aware of Linux. And, while managers are still contemplating moving to Linux, their IT departments have already made the move.

Linux is a cost effective alternative to commercial operating systems. Whether on the desktop or in the server room, Linux has proven itself to be a solid and reliable platform for many businesses, academic, scientific, and networking needs. JHL has extensive experience with Linux and has worked with all major distributions and versions, such as:

  • RedHat
  • Debian
  • SuSe
  • Mandrake
  • Caldera
  • SlackWare
